An Update On Polly’s Mental Health

Last month I talked about Polly’s mental health struggles. Today I wanted to give an update on how Polly has been doing.

Polly has been on the Prozac for almost a month now and she is doing so well. We have had the muzzle off for a couple of weeks now and her and Elsie Jane are getting along wonderfully. They run around together, snuggle, etc. Polly did go after EJ once, but not like she did before…not as vicious. We are still being very cautious and watching them together, but the progress has been great.

Overall, Polly is calmer, too. She doesn’t get as nervous during storms. She does still get nervous, but it’s not nearly as bad as it used to be, even when she took the sedative. We have actually decided to not even use the sedative anymore because Polly is doing so well.

I am happy that we decided to go with the Prozac as Polly really needed it.
