Hospice Foster | Gracie Mae

On Saturday, my husband and I drove about an hour and a half to save Miss Gracie from a shelter. Gracie is about 16 years old and in very poor health. The shelter was trying to adopt her out, but she is in no condition to be adopted. So, we took her in as a foster to provide hospice care.

She can hardly stand up in her own. If she tries to poop, she falls over. If she is laying down, she needs help to get up.  She has neurological issues and a large mass basically around her whole body. Her teeth are atrocious and I am sure she’s in a lot of pain from that.

We are going to give her lots of comfort and love in her final days. Unfortunately,  I don’t think she will be with us very long, poor girl. We got her knowing she was hospice only. She deserves some love in her life.
