Ruptured Anal Glands

Back in September last year, Snickers had a ruptured anal gland. It came out of nowhere and she showed no signs/symptoms. This past weekend, the same thing happened to Bentley. I spoke with the vet when we took Bentley in, and she even said that sometimes this just happens and there is really no way to know.

We were very lucky that our vet was able to get us in within an hour of Bentley’s rupturing. They cleaned it out really well and he is on medicine for a couple of weeks.

If you dog ever has surgery or a procedure where they have to wear a cone, I highly recommend getting one of these donut collars, they are are much more comfortable for the dogs.
